‘Montz and Voicestrings’ will take you to many different spaces, including Japanese original songs of Montz, using their mastery of banjo, mandolin and guitar, their music covers from Americana to Celtic, and Asian.

Montz Matsumoto was born in Japan and started to learn bluegrass banjo at the age of 15 and started his professional career in Kyoto. He toured Japan with legendary singer-songwriter and bluegrass player Peter Rowan. Since moving to Australia in 2002, Montz has toured all over Australia and has won multiple Bluegrass and banjo prizes at Tamworth and other festivals. 

Ross Sermons was born in North Carolina, and stepped in Southern Blues, Bluegrass and Soul. He toured all over America and UK, Holland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Ireland, and has recorded and toured with many artists including BB King, Jimmy Buffett, Steve Winwood, and Steve Cropper, James Cotton, Gregg Allman, Tim O’Brien, Sam Bush, Alison Brown and fiddle legend Vassar Clements.

Luke Plumb is one of Australia’s most sought-after session musicians. He joined the Scottish band ‘Shooglenifty’ in 2002 and toured around Australia and Europe. He also collaborated and recorded with Irish legend Andy Irvine, and Australian Folk musicians like Kate Burke, Lucy Wise, Ruth Hazleton, Peter Duffy.
