The Borstal Boys

Fri 29 Dec 7.45pm (Main Stage)

The Borstal Boys were formed in Hobart way back in the 20th century racking up gigs across the State from 1999, with a focus on jigs, reels and celtic folk versions of songs from bands such as the Beatles, The Pogues, AC/DC, Paul Kelly and the like.

Back in the day the band were one of Hobart’s busiest and were joined by the likes of Billy Bragg on stage for some of Hobart’s biggest festivals, Taste gigs and legendary pub gigs.

With several members moving away, the Borstals are getting back together to ignite the fire in Zac’s fiddle, Greg’s Banjo, Mat’s Mandolin, Steve’s guitar and Nick’s Beatle Bass added with four part harmonies and rowdy tune sets that will get the crowd on their feet.
